Our Brother Paul

I recently heard a sermon on our brother Paul.  He was an excellent follower of Christ a man I would proudly model after.  He went through a lot though!  Flogging, stoning and the cruel words of the evil men that tracked his every step.  Paul had gotten shipwrecked, and bit by a viper. . .yet in all this he didn't stop following God, he would pick himself up by his bootstraps and keep walking and preaching God's Word!  I wonder how many times when he was about to get beaten or stoned thought "Yes!  I'm about to meet my God and go home!".  And yet every time he found himself still on man's earth.  I can't wait to see Paul in heaven and sit down and listen to those wonderful stories on how he sacrificed himself wholeheartedly for God and His kingdom.  I want to be exactly like Paul. . .and go on a wonderful journey serving God and His kingdom.

I want to be in front of our God in heaven and have him tell me, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
I want to be able to say what Paul says below.

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.  2 Timothy 4:7

Looking through God's Eyes

God is so great!  I don't know why he did some things and I don't understand others but I know one thing.  He made everything good :)  As I look at his creation I see one thing in particular that stands out. . .horses.  They are. . .
H.eroes
O.bedient
R.emarkable
S.incere
E.nergetic
S.ensitive

I look at these awesome creatures and I not only see a companion but I see a part of God in them.  They are strong and loving, and they are forgiving when you've hurt them.  They see the true you when no one else truly knows you.

We are Monsters?

I recently learned from a guy named Taylor that we all have a monster inside of us.  Is that scary?  Well I was pretty take aback by it but then I learned it was so true!  If you take all the bad stuff in our lives, selfishness, greed, judgment, all that bad stuff and bring it front and center what do you have?  A blood thirsty monster right?  Well I thought, surely that can't be me. . .but yes it is me.  He said we can only get rid of the monster one way, and his name is the Holy Spirit.  He will come and pound out that monster from you until it screams and runs away!
So we have only two choices, we can either give in to the monster let it overtake us or we can open up to the Holy Spirit and let him get the monster out for us.  Which one will you choose today?  I know my answer. . .

Have your way Lord, have your way.
